Is there anything more boring than a monthly update from a supplier?
Probably not.
So in an effort to engage better we are going to talk less but provide more info on bespoke subjects in order to inform you better.
Here’s operational updates for Q4 – important if you want to make sure you can deliver.
1 – Peak planning is well underway – and if you are expecting a major uplift then we need to know
Carriers ask us to forecast what volumes we anticipate for November and December – and we must broadly meet these targets. So, if you have a new product launch or are expecting a bumper Xmas then we need to know, to make sure the carriers have the resources to deliver.
2 – Some (naughty) carriers have added a small peak surcharge
Evri have imposed a peak surcharge this year. Now we have lower usage going through their network as we have preferred other low-cost carriers – but if you use Evri then now may be the time to change. We see no reason for peak surcharges to be imposed so would advise a review. Speak to yourlocal Diamond Service Centre if you use Evri to discuss alternatives.
3 – Peak Performance Perspective
Some of the carriers can get a little delayed when volumes go through the roof, particularly after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now, rest assured, we at Diamond HQ monitor their performance daily to make sure exceptions (delayed deliveries) are trading within our expected 2-3% but it’s prudent to mitigate any delays by communicating with your customers that delivery times ‘might’ be a little longer at peak. Under promise – and we’ll attempt to over deliver to keep your customers happy.
4 – Go early
Our wisest clients start their seasonal promos early to maximise their pre-Xmas sales. Start your promotions now – and use the PRE BLACK FRIDAY/CYBER MONDAY SALE as a key hook. People this year in particularly are holding out for a bargain so use common ‘bargain’ terminology to lure their sale.
5 – Talk to us about your opening hours over Christmas
If you are planning on taking an extended break this year, or closing early on the 23rd then tell us so we can be sure to cover you whilst you’re away.
Last despatch dates for Xmas deliver 2024
(One big proviso here – the carriers will be BUSY so these times are forecast not 100% set in stone. To be sure of successful delivery, bargain for an extra 24-48 hours when possible – particularly if your using popular carriers like Royal Mail).

Did you know…
It’s not too late to move stock into our warehouses. If you are struggling for space because you have bought in peak stock, or you just can’t face another manic peak, our fulfilment services may well be worth exploring!
It’s tough for small ecommerce sellers to ramp up resource to cater for the busiest two months of the year – but we have the infrastructure to deal with seasonal peaks.
We are still onboarding clients, so it’s not too late.
