So, here’s a big question then: what’s the difference between Diamond Logistics and any other courier company?

Well, I’m going to talk about people, which is pretty standard, and then we’re going to talk about technology.

Effectively, you’re talking about a business that’s got 30 years of heritage. We were established on 16 March 1992, and our couriers are our ambassadors on the road. They’re CRB checked, they’re fully trained and a lot of them have had tens of years of experience.

That, combined with probably nearing thousands of years of collective experience within the business, means we kind of know what we’re doing.

We’ve been working with F1 racing teams, the Department of Health, the NHS and people who have got really urgent and important requirements for a really long time. You can rest assured that we really know what we’re doing.

What we’ve had to do is twin that expertise with innovation to make sure that we’re at the forefront of your client experience. That’s the bit that you can tell us all about with Despatchlab. That’s the bit that excites me.

I suppose there are a couple of things, really, when it comes to the technology.

The power of what we’re doing at Diamond Logistics is that we’ve got more than 30 service centres across the whole of the UK, each controlling their own drivers.

When it comes to the technology, the trick was to tie all of that resource together and bring the capability and power of that network together in one technological piece.

What that has enabled us to do is make sure that we’ve got a driver app out there, so every single driver is trackable in real time. Our clients have the peace of mind that, when they book a same-day courier service, they can even see where that driver is while travelling to the destination.

At the same time, from our perspective, it helps us feed work to our drivers. It means that we’ve got very happy drivers out there who are earning not just one way from A to B, but also back from B to A again, or from B to C.

That has some really important ecological impacts as well because it means we’re minimising empty vehicles and maximising the load.

That means we’ve got happy drivers and we’re trying to do our best for a happy environment.

Also, if you’re a receptionist or a dispatch manager and you’ve got your boss in your ear saying, “Where’s that consignment?”, you’re going to be able to track it online with a really simple-to-use client interface.

Ultimately, it’s a really easy-to-use experience, and you can rely on us to deliver.

If you want a smart yet friendly logistics solution then we are the choice for you.

We understand the frustrations that SMEs face when dealing with a faceless courier service. This is why we place people at the centre of what we do.
