At this time of year, with the boom in popularity of online shopping, you may have experienced the frustration of waiting in for a delivery that doesn’t show up. Father Christmas is a busy fella and sometimes his satnav lets him down!
In this situation the best way to resolve is to get in touch with the company that you have ordered your product from and not the parcel delivery company.
The company that you ordered your product will then contact the delivery company directly and as they have account holder access, this will save you from expensive phone calls, with long hold times, just to be told they cannot tell you anything as you aren’t the sender!
Some tips to allow an even smoother experience:
- Enter as much information as possible (full address, phone number, email address) so you can receive the tracking updates, this will give the delivery company a way to contact you if they cannot locate your property or need to speak to you.
- If you are expecting a delivery and are not going to be home, another option is to leave a signed note on the door with delivery instructions (such as where to leave safe) so the courier can take away as authorization.
- If you live in a flat, please note that the driver may not be able to leave a card if you have a security door so please keep an eye on the online tracking information.
- Remember, during this peak parcel season, it is always worth allowing for extra time where possible as the amount of parcel traffic increases exponentially! All the carriers take on extra drivers and extend the delivering hours, so if you are receiving to your home address rather than a business address then please be aware delivery can even be late in the evening!
