Why Kate signed an open letter to the Next Prime Minister

We woke up to the surprising results Friday morning. However the letter written to the Prime Minister from 50 entrepreneurs still stands. It is vitally important to prioritise support for the millions of start-ups, scale-ups and entrepreneurs around the UK and diamond founder and CEO Kate Lester supports just that.

Kate knows who stuck by her to build diamond, the skills she needed to get her there, and support she received – or wish she had received – that helped make it happen.

Through signing an open letter[1], with 50 other entrepreneurs alongside a report by the Entrepreneurs Network[2], early this week, she has emphasised the importance for continuing to support entrepreneurship.

diamond’s No. 1 value Shared Success© is all about mutually beneficial partnerships. Through supporting job creators; the government and country will benefit from the success of businesses too!

Various recommendations feature in the report but four key points champion Kate’s outlook.

Encourage young people to gain entrepreneurship skills or enterprising work opportunities

Kate is passionate about supporting fellow entrepreneurs doing so through her not for profit exercise katelester.com and providing mentoring at Bathtub 2 Boardroom. Starting her business at 20 was not easy. But it has become a nationwide business with over 20 depots across the country by 2017. She believes in young people as the entrepreneurs of the future.

Equip small businesses and scale-ups to embrace export opportunities

At diamond we are proud to offer our diamondsameday, diamondfulfillment and particularly, diamondovernight&international services. We provide a service for businesses ranging in size and know that scaling up to work internationally is often a dream that feels out of reach.

Deliver more targeted business support

Entrepreneurs put their all into their business to make it grow and flourish. But sometimes that means they have less time to look for support – getting bogged down in the day to day. Small measures can be taken to raise awareness of the support that is available. A simple solution that could have a great impact. Why not?

Allow for the access of Talent and Skills

diamondlogistics would not be where it was without the brilliant, diverse and dedicated teamdiamond!

So post election we can be sure that Kate will continue to champion support for all business entrepreneurs and the future innovators of the UK.
