Alice Holland, Founder of Little Prince London, first came to us as a high-end guest brand. She had a great product but was struggling to get her online operation off the ground. We helped Alice in tagging and barcoding the clothes to prevent mis-picks and get her brand ready for wholesale orders. Then we started wrapping all of her orders beautifully in branded tissue paper.
The buying experience for customers is key
Alice now only sells her own brand and has been really successful in not only launching her brand, but expanding it. Alice has been nominated for a number of awards, but she says that the greatest recognition has come from her customers who take the time to write lovely reviews and say how much they enjoy receiving their goods that really makes her heart sing!
Alice shares the lessons she has learnt along the way,
“There are so many! You can never take your foot off the pedal if you’re a one man band! Holidays, days off – you’ll still be working. The rest come under three main categories for me:
Resilience – there are so many setbacks and you need to be able to quickly bounce back (and not take your foot off said pedal!).
Determination – keeping the end vision and bigger picture in mind when you have slow weeks/ months.
Perseverance – there’s no such thing as an overnight success (even though I believed there was!) get ready for a 10 year journey…”
Of outsourcing her eCommerce fulfilment, Alice says,
“It’s been brilliant right from the start. When I decided to go down the fulfilment route, we were slowly growing and I was pregnant with my second child. Going to the Post Office to get orders sent out was becoming challenging and I wanted to be able to offer our customers a much faster service. Diamond ship orders the same day when you order by 1pm – and I just couldn’t compete with that! And most importantly, we’re able to offer same day shipping at a very reasonable price for our customers. Since moving our operation to Diamond, we’ve grown exponentially because I have the time and energy to focus on the projects that grow the business.”
Our Childrenswear Fulfilment Service Centre in Bristol
And when it comes to eCommerce Fulfilment, ensuring deliveries arrive where they should, when they should is a top priority to our Diamond teams across the country, as Alice tells about working with our Bristol team, headed by Amanda Watkins-Smith,
“Mandy and the team share my passion for excellent customer service and go well out of their way to help me whenever there’s issues. For example, we had a customer a couple of weekends ago, whose order hadn’t been sent on time due to an out of stock item. Although this wasn’t Diamond’s error, Mandy worked tirelessly on a Saturday to obtain courier quotes for me so that we could get the customers parcel delivered over the weekend before she went on holiday. I’m so grateful for all the staff at Diamond who regularly go well above and beyond what’s expected.”
Mandy says of Alice and her brand,
“Alice, founder and designer at Little Prince London must be so very proud of her business achievements over the last year, we are also proud to be able to support Alice in her journey of bringing her vision to market. Little Prince London produces beautiful clothes for babies and toddlers, refined simplicity – comfort is key – and this is replicated throughout from the clothing itself to the labelling and the beautiful packaging the goods are dispatched in. This year Alice has been nominated for multiple industry awards, Congratulations Alice!”
So what does the future hold for Alice and Little Prince London?
“Our aim for the next few years is to focus on the B2C side of our business and grow within the retail space. We’re attending our first trade show, in New York, at the end of July and plan to start targeting the US market first”
