We are excited to announce the latest addition to the Diamond network, our new Network Partner based in the historic city of Peterborough. This marks a significant milestone in our mission to expand our services and provide more support to our customers. With our extended presence in the East Midlands region, we can now offer our same day, next day, and international delivery services to a wider range of businesses in the area. We had the opportunity to speak with father and son duo, Dan and Steven Zenczuk about their goals and their vast experience in the fulfilment and delivery industry.
About our Peterborough Network Partners:
In the world of logistics, it’s crucial to have a reliable partner to handle your fulfilment and delivery needs. Founded in September 2021 by Dan Zenchuk and Steven Zenczuk, Zenchuk Logistics Solutions Ltd (ZLS) is a logistics company that specialises in eCommerce fulfilment, warehousing, and last-mile courier services. With a team of experienced professionals and a commitment to customer satisfaction, ZLS is quickly making a name for itself in the industry.
Tell us about the team at ZLS?
Dan: I am a Director of ZLS, along with my father, Steven Zenczuk. Ashley Wilson is the sales manager and has been with the company for 18 months, while Zach Sellers is the goods in/transport team member and has been with the company for 6 months. Sam Venters handles customer service and has been with ZLS for 18 months. Vlad Lukenuk is responsible for same day deliveries and has been with the company for 6 months.
Tell us more about the team – where do you originate from/family/children?
Dan: We are both born and raised in Peterborough; however, our family is originally from Ukraine, and we still have close ties to the country. Steven is the only child of a Ukrainian father and English mother, and he has two children of his own, including me. I also have a Ukrainian mother and two children, Francesca and Jessica.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Steven: We both dreamed of becoming footballers, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out.
How did you get into logistics?
Dan: Both Steven and I landed in logistics at different points in their careers and never left. We had previously held management roles at companies such as Amazon, Caterpillar, and Ideal World.
Where did the ZLS company name come from?
Steven: The ZLS name is simply the family name and we deemed appropriate for this father-son venture.
What year was ZLS founded?
ZLS was founded in September 2021.
What is the story and history of ZLS, and what has been its growth to date?
Dan: ZLS was created to complement my existing company, Danzen Logistics Ltd. Steven left his management role at Ideal World to co-found ZLS. So far, ZLS has taken on some small last-mile courier opportunities, but the new partnership with Diamond Logistics presents a huge expansion opportunity.
What do you enjoy about owning your own business/what you do?
Dan: The ZLS team enjoys the freedom to be creative and do things their own way, with the ability to reap the rewards or learn from our mistakes.
What do you enjoy about working in logistics?
Dan: The fast-paced nature of the logistics industry, the continuous changes in processes and technology, and the challenge of meeting client demands make working in logistics a thrilling journey.
What industry sectors do ZLS’s current clients come from?
Dan: We have contracts with some large eCommerce companies, through our sister company, and work with a well-known last-mile carrier.
What drew ZLS to Diamond initially?
Dan: We were drawn to Diamond Logistics by the chance to try something new and challenging, while also expanding our business and utilizing their backgrounds in eCommerce, fulfilment, and warehousing.
What will the partnership with Diamond mean to ZLS’s business?
Dan: The partnership with Diamond is a significant expansion opportunity for ZLS, as it will be the first time we will have a commercial premises of our own and the responsibilities that come with it. The entire team is thrilled and eager to embark on this new venture together.
Do you support any charities or causes?
Dan: Both Steven and I have, personally and through our companies, have donated over £75k since the start of 2021 to several good causes. Given our heritage, the majority of our support has gone to Ukraine where we have donated vehicles, aid and accommodation to groups requiring support in the area.
What are the hobbies and interests of the ZLS team?
Dan: Football is a shared passion among the team, and ZLS sponsors several teams and players. We are proud main sponsors of Whittlesey Athletic Football Club.
Thanks to our extensive chat with Dan, it is obvious that ZLS is a company that you can trust for all your logistics needs.
