diamond logistics won a special award at the 2019 Institute of Courier Awards at the IoD this month.

Carl Lomas, IoC Chair stated, ‘In embracing the demands for a radical rethink of the future of same day delivery, despite foundations in traditional same day over 27 years ago, diamond has undergone a radical transformation. Creating an new logistics platform, extending services to embrace multi carrier parcel delivery as well as same day and adding fulfilment, and embracing equality, diversity and inclusion to proactively foster a dynamic and forward thinking team on the forefront of logistics evolution’.
‘Its been a journey of evolution’, says Kate Lester, diamonds CEO. ‘In 2018 diamond logistics group was founded to include the traditional same day business, adding despatchlab the software arm to the company and adding the network services. Its members have grown from its original one site to having over 29 sites live forecast by February 2020 – with plans for another 50 before the end of 2022 which will make it the largest network of its kind in the UK’.
The key, Kate says, is helping others.
‘diamond is enabling SMEs to access logistics services once only enabled to big business. It enables traditional courier companies to access the service diversity and technology it needs cost effectively to grow. It empowers its team but actively pursuing equal opportunity policies to ensure access to the team pools needed to embrace this less than traditional path’.
